Heroes is a midweek kids club, run by Churches Together in Buckingham (the same people who run Holiday Club!). It is a lot of fun, and a great chance to explore the Christian faith in an exciting way.
The group started in September 2009, meeting every Thursday afternoon (school term time) at the Parish Church. We are split into two different age groups which meet at different times:

'Heroes of Hope' are age range Reception to Year 2 (5 – 7) plus a few under 5’s who come along with their Mum’s and meet 4.15pm – 5.30 pm.

'Heroes of Faith' are Year 3 to Year 6 (8 – 11) and meet 5.30pm to 7.00pm.
Each session starts with a game, we have a bible story, a craft activity and a time of worship and the first session ends with a pizza tea, the second session starts with a pizza tea and then we have a game, a bible story followed by a discussion time for each year group, which gives the children time to explore their faith in a small group and where they can feel free to ask questions of their leaders and each other, this is followed by a craft activity and a time of prayer and worship to close.
Extra Activities
During the year we also hold film nights/sleep overs (although the adults do not get a huge amount of sleep), we do fund raising for ‘Children in Need’ and ‘Comic Relief’ and take part in Sunday morning church services at both Well Street and St Peter and St Paul’s.
The Team
We have a very committed group of volunteers. We are so thankful to our youth who turn up each week to help and to the staff in the kitchen who prepare the pizzas and make sure the tea pot is never empty, to those who prepare the craft activities each week and to those who lead the groups.
As a group we feel really blessed by God, each week we have around 40 children who come along and it is a wonderful experience to see even the very youngest develop in their faith.
