Mission Ministry

Ministry purpose
The Mission Ministry exists to offer financial, practical and spiritual support to local, national and international organisations and individuals engaged in mission.

Ministry Goals
On an ongoing basis we will:

• Continue to support a variety of missions especially those with whom we have historical links
• Make it our business to be well informed about the missions we support
• Support the missions of our  3 denominations: Methodist Relief & Development Fund (MRDF); Methodist Homes for the Aged (MHA);  Baptist Missionary Society (BMS World Mission), Baptist Home Mission and URC Commitment for Life, and other relevant denominational funds.
• Ensure the appropriate distribution of the central mission fund.
• Ensure that all people at WSUC are informed about the missions we support.

Some of the steps we’ll take:

• Continuing to inform of what the Mission Team is doing through the notice board at the back of the service area, the monthly Church magazine, the website, notice sheet and through organising mission events.
• Provide information on a monthly basis for inclusion in the prayer diary including specific missions and their needs.
• Inform WSUC of the needs and opportunities that occur in mission
• prayers of intercession in all services will be mission-focused once a month.
• Invite representatives from the mission groups we support to come and share at WSUC when possible.
• Initiate fundraising events and ideas to support our chosen missions.
• Provide support for initiatives such as Traidcraft.

This document will be reviewed annually alongside the report for the AGM

We seek to offer financial, practical and spiritual support to local, national and international organisations and individuals engaged in mission.
